How I started to make money online?
I started venturing into internet marketing in 2006. I tried every ebook I got my hands on and tried some methods that work and move on. Technology behind the internet is fast changing and every niche I tried becomes easily saturated and later on passé.
But despite that, there remains a variety of opportunity that never stops coming and if you’re fast enough to exploit the niche you can rake a fortune of online income. I got my share of earnings but not that much since I only do it once in a while.
Blogging things I like are of my main methods I used in earning money on the internet. I post things I like and it is very easy to setup wherein, in few minutes I can get my site up without too much knowledge in HTML coding.
You can earn something from putting advertising links from AdSense, banner or text links from affiliate sites and other methods to make money which I will discuss later in my future posts. You are paid a share on every click by Google while you also get a commission percentage on every sale or lead when a costumer goes to the merchant site using your affiliate link.
But blog is simple to setup but harder to monetize when you are starting. People read your blog because you post good information. If it will look and feel like a sales page, they will go away plain and simple. But like any other starters making easy bucks in blogging is hard because you need to need establish yourself first in the community that you are targeting by providing entertaining and useful information.
When I watched Pacquiao fight, or Lakers vs. Celtics I hate the commercials, because I want to see the continuing flow of what I am watching. If a commercial shows it spoils the moment. This situation is very much like people see blogs so you need to be careful in putting too much advertisement as not to make your blog look spammy.
Starting a blog on Blogger or WordPress.com is fine since you get one for free without paying a monthly hosting cost. But free hosting has its limitations that prevent you to fully utilize the potential of your site. Blogger recently prevented uploading files on their server and WordPress.com since disallowed banner links. So your earning potential is highly limited on free sites.
You can get a domain for only $7 at Godaddy using this OYH10 coupon code, and get a 1 cent hosting for 1 month from Hostgator by putting this discount coupon code: hgc25 when you checkout.
There are many blogging platforms to use but I prefer WordPress hosted for many reasons since it is highly usable and versatile in whatever I want to make on my blog. Moreover, it is highly search engine optimize to help my blog rank well in search engines. Wodpress.com is hosted on WordPress.com servers while the self-hosted is the one you upload on your own server.
In my experience it will take around 3 months before you can see results of your promotion, provided that you post at least once a day. I will give some hint in the future on how to promote your blog with ebooks I owned which discuss comprehensively on the matter.
